Blair Atholl Distillery

Blair Atholl has been quietly crafting whisky since 1798, right in the heart of Highland Perthshire. As one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries, it draws on over two centuries of tradition, with each drop shaped by the crisp mountain air and pure Highland water. The result is a single malt that is both rich and warming - a true taste of the landscape and its history.Nestled near the historic Blair Castle, the distillery enjoys a beautiful setting among the mountains and rivers of Atholl. The whisky here is a classic Highland style - honeyed and warming, with notes of toffee, dried fruit and a gentle spice that calls to mind the rolling Perthshire hills. The distillery fell silent in 1932 and was rebuilt and reopened in 1949, and whisky has been made here in much the same way ever since, with traditional methods still at the heart of everything they do.Blair Atholl is our first whisky stop on the 3-Day Speyside Whisky Trail, perfectly placed on the A9 between Edinburgh and the heart of Speyside. For guests travelling north with us, it offers a wonderful introduction to Highland malt.
