Overview

What you will see on this tour.

Explore Edinburgh in ultimate comfort and style with a private, tailored tour just for you and your group. Your tour begins at your hotel when your very own kilted local guide will transport you to the iconic landmarks of the city such as Edinburgh Castle, the quaint mews of Circus Lane, the stunning views of Calton Hill and beyond.

Relax at lunch before continuing your tour through the city.

Your day concludes with a highlight: a visit to Edinburgh’s premier Gin Distillery, where you’ll indulge in a 1-hour Gin Tour & Tasting experience — guided by an expert you'll learn all about Gins historical connection to Edinburgh, the art of Gin creation and, of course, a tasting experience to end your day.

Pickup Info
Every tour includes complimentary door-to-door service. Your guide meets you outside at your hotel (or other accommodation) ready to start your day. At the end of the tour, we drop you back. No meeting points, no hunting for a coach stop - just a relaxed experience from start to finish.

Itinerary

Morning
Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, Dean Village & Old Town

Hotel Pick-up
Your own personal guide will pick you up right outside your hotel, usually arriving 15 minutes before your tour begins.

Calton Hill
Also known as Monument Hill, this is a fantastic spot to look over Edinburgh. From here, you'll be able to see Edinburgh Castle, Leith, the Old Town and the New Town.

Dean Village
A true hidden gem, Dean Village is somewhere you might miss if travelling alone. Upon entering Dean Village, you'll be transported into another world, where cobbled streets and quaint houses sit on the banks of the Water of Leith.

New Town
Although not so 'new', the New Town was built in the 1700s to give the wealthy a place to stay away from the crowded Old Town. All through the area, you'll see typical examples of Georgian Townhouses — now classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Old Town & Edinburgh Castle
The Old Town of Edinburgh is perhaps the most famous. Here you'll get to see Edinburgh Castle, the cobbled streets of the Royal Mile, and St Giles' Cathedral.

Afternoon
New Town, Arthur's Seat & Edinburgh Gin Distillery

Lunch
Your guide will provide a selection of lunch options on the day to suit various preferences and dietary needs. Time to relax and refuel before the afternoon highlight.

Arthur's Seat
As we travel through Edinburgh you'll get spectacular views of Arthur's Seat. Your guide will also point out the Scottish Parliament Building and Holyrood Palace — the official residence of King Charles III in Scotland.

Edinburgh Gin Distillery Tour & Tasting Experience
Your day concludes with a highlight: a visit to Edinburgh's premier Gin Distillery, where you'll indulge in a 1-hour Gin Tour & Tasting experience. Guided by an expert, you'll learn all about Gin's historical connection to Edinburgh, the art of Gin creation, and enjoy a tasting of handcrafted gins — each with its own unique character and story.

Drop Off
Sit back and relax as your personal guide drops you back at your hotel, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free end to your journey.

What our Guests say

FAQs

How much gin will we be tasting?

Taken at a relaxed pace, the curated tasting takes you through roughly 5 gins to savour along the way.

Is this a private tour?

Yes, this is a private experience. Only you and the people you choose to bring along will be part of your group.

Is there a minimum age for the tastings?

Because alcohol is served, Scottish licensing law means anyone joining the tastings needs to be 18 or over. Younger guests in your party are still very welcome to come along for the city sightseeing.

What if someone in our group doesn't drink gin?

That's absolutely fine. There are non-alcoholic options to hand, and since the tour also explores the sights of Edinburgh, everyone has plenty to enjoy beyond the tasting itself.

Can I buy bottles to take home?

Usually there's the chance to buy your favourite gins on the day, making a lovely souvenir to carry home from your Edinburgh experience.
