Itinerary

Morning
Stirling Castle & the Gateway to the Highlands

Ship Pick-up
Your own personal guide will pick you either from your ship terminal or the tender port, usually arriving 30 minutes before your tour begins, ensuring a warm and seamless start to your experience.

Stirling Castle

You'll be driven right up to the gates, where you can take in a spectacular view over Stirling. Upon entering the castle, you'll be met with costumed characters who will transport you back to 16th-century life, showing you what the castle would have looked like during Mary, Queen of Scots' childhood. Stirling Castle is arguably one of the most significant places in Mary Stewart's history. Aged just nine months, Mary was crowned Queen of Scots — the ceremony was conducted in September 1543 in the Chapel Royal of Stirling Castle, and was the first time the Honours of Scotland were used.

Callander

Known as the Gateway to the Highlands, Callander is an extremely pretty tourist town. Bursting with coffee shops, gift shops – and of course a fantastic whisky shop – the first stop on this tour will get you ready for everything that's to come. You can also take a stroll along the River Teith, which flows along the edge of the town, with spectacular views of Ben Ledi and the Crags behind the town.

Duke's Pass

Twisting through the Trossach hills, you will drive through Duke's Pass, with breathtaking views around every bend, making it a genuine high point of your day.

Afternoon
The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond & the Village of Luss
Picture-perfect, the village of Luss is somewhere everyone has to see when visiting Scotland. With its quaint little houses and loch-side location, it's one of the prettiest villages imaginable. Walk along the pier and have your picture taken with views of Ben Lomond in the backdrop.

The Beautiful Village of Balmaha
One of the best places to marvel at the waters of Loch Lomond, Balmaha is a beautiful spot. Get your picture taken next to the Tom Weir Statue, with his trademark bobble hat. Tom Weir was one of Scotland's most famous climbers, TV presenters and authors. There's also a fantastic coffee shop if you fancy a wee coffee and cake!

Drop Off
Sit back and relax as your personal guide drops you back at your ship, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free end to your journey.

What our Guests say

FAQs

Will we definitely be back in time for our ship?

There's ample time to spare. We've shaped this Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond Shore Excursion around a shorter spell ashore, so getting you back to your port on schedule always comes first.

Where do you pick us up from?

You'll be met by your guide right at your ship's disembarkation point. Should you come ashore by tender, they'll be near the jetty as you land and will get in touch to let you know they've arrived.

What if our ship is delayed arriving into Greenock?

There's no need to fret over delays beyond your control. Your guide keeps an eye on your ship's arrival time into Greenock and stays in touch with you throughout the day.

Are there regular restroom breaks?

On a private tour you set the rhythm, which means pausing for comfort breaks whenever you need one. Your guide is glad to stop so you stay comfortable all day long.

Can the day be tailored to our interests?

Shaping the day around you is simple. Since this is a completely private, bespoke experience, just book your place and then reply to your booking confirmation email with anything you'd like to change, and we'll handle the rest.
