Itinerary

Morning
Castles & the Lothian Coast

Hotel Pick-up
Your own personal guide will pick you up right outside your hotel, usually arriving 15 minutes before your tour begins, ensuring a warm and seamless start to your experience.

Dirleton Castle
Your first stop is the romantic ruin of Dirleton Castle, sitting proudly at the heart of one of Scotland's prettiest villages. Dating back to the 13th century, this medieval fortress is surrounded by beautiful gardens — including a magnificent Arts and Crafts herbaceous border once recognised as the longest in the world. Wander the grounds and imagine the sieges this stronghold withstood across its long and turbulent history.

Berwick Law
As you approach Berwick, the landscape is fairly flat aside from Berwick Law, a large hill protruding from the ground. It's a prominent landmark in Scotland and actually features two whale bones on the summit (now made of fibreglass), which makes for a rather cool picture.

North Berwick
Once you reach North Berwick, you'll no doubt be ready for lunch. This is a lovely seaside town, with two beaches and plenty of cafés and restaurants to choose from. There's also the fantastic Scottish Seabird Centre, where you can look through binoculars and telescopes towards Bass Rock and admire the birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.

Lunch
Your guide will provide you with a variety of lunch options, ensuring there's something to suit every taste and dietary preference.

Afternoon
Castles & Whisky

Tantallon Castle
Famed for its dramatic location on the peninsula, the sea cliffs and 'curtain wall' are truly a sight to see. Perched on the edge of the cliff, this spectacular 14th-century castle ruin has marvellous views over the sea and towards Bass Rock.

Bass Rock
Bass Rock is a prominent mark on the landscape – you certainly won't miss it. With views out to the sea, you'll see flocks of birds swarm the Rock and dive into the waves beneath. Home to one of the world's largest colonies of Northern gannets, it's a spectacular natural sight at any time of year.

Drop-off
Sit back and relax as your personal guide drops you back at your hotel, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free end to your journey.
